Welcome to the SSR newsletter in which we aim to inform
members of SSR activities and issues relevant to rehabilitation. The
newsletter will be distributed twice a year.
In this first issue we include a brief history of the
organization and its present role. We would like to thank all SSR members,
and also non-members, who responded in our recent survey and we present its
results. A report on the Spring conference looking at sensory impairment is
included. We also include notes from some other meetings which are of
interest.
The SSR Trust Fund provides financial aid to members for
educational purposes and one of our members who benefited from this reviews
his work.
Much work is being done by various authorities in
developing standards and guidelines, and we provide an overview of this
important area. In this issue there is also an article on the Scottish
Health Advisory Service Quality Indicators.
Assessing outcome of interventions and services has
gained much interest in recent years and we have an of overview outcome
measures as well.
There
are established
Scotland
wide services in rehabilitation and in this issue we include an article on
the Scottish Driving Assessment Service.
We hope you find this newsletter useful and enjoyable.
